Yoga grants us the opportunity to live peacefully and connect with ourselves. It brings relaxation, breaks the monotony, and strengthens our confidence. In this intensive retreat with the internationally renowned yoga teacher Akhilesh Bodhi from India, you will explore an asana practice that strengthens your deep muscles, ligaments, and tendons while enhancing the energy flow in the deeper layers of your body. This week covers all facets of yoga and extends an invitation to yoga teachers (as a certification training), as well as to ambitious yogis and yoginis looking to build strength, endurance, and flexibility to delve deeper and longer into poses. It is open to all who wish to immerse themselves more deeply into the philosophy of yoga as a way of life. Note: Retreat language is English.
We practice classical Hatha Yoga, which forms the foundation of all yoga styles. Our focus is on proper alignment in every asana, providing a better foundation for your ongoing asana practice. Alignment is one of the cornerstones, the basis, to prevent any form of self-injury due to misalignment. Once well-aligned, we are ready to flow through Hatha and Vinyasa flows.

During this week, with your program leader Akhilesh, you will also delve into yoga philosophy. The focus is on understanding the fundamental ideas of yoga – figuring out how the body, mind, and soul are interconnected. We will discuss a selected Sutra from Patanjali to understand the mind and its turbulences. What are the emotions that make our mind restless, cloudy, dark, and depressed? And we will explore the solutions that yoga offers.

Retreat and tranquility can be found at the natural bathing pond, in the forests, and within the vastness of the gently rolling countryside. The journey from Vienna takes 2.5 hours, and Passau is accessible in one hour. The Mühlviertel region is characterized by active yet unhurried charm. Fields of bright blue flax flowers, a thousand hills, fascinating rock formations, and farms with characteristic granite blocks in their snow-white walls dot the landscape. Local producers and individualists thrive in the region north of the Danube. Countless hiking trails and routes for mountain biking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing lead over hilltops and through forests. The Mühltalrunde hiking trail passes right by the Retreat Center.
The Mühlviertel - active & close to nature. Here are some excursion tips in the region:
