Ayurveda in Heritance Maha Gedara

The Heritance Maha Gedara belongs to the most renowned Ayurveda houses of Sri Lanka. The very well experienced team, the ayurvedic food as well as the pleasant atmosphere in the house are the basis for a successful cure.

Ayurveda focuses on two areas:
1. Healing
2. Prevention 

It means that Ayurveda is of value for people who are going through illness, but also for those who wish to strengthen their immune system. An Ayurveda doctor will examine you on arrival and an Ayurveda welcome relaxing feet treatment will be prescribed. It is called "Pada Avagahanaya" or "Pada Abyanga" or feet massage.
After an extensive medical examination, the senior physician determines your constitution type and establishes an individual Ayurveda treatment according to your individual needs. What kind of treatments and how often you need them will be defined by the senior physician. Your treatment plan is then followed daily by an experienced team of well trained, friendly therapists under the direct surveillance of the Ayurveda doctors of the hotel.
The Ayurveda program includes daily treatments, therapies, oils, herbal medications and ayurvedic food with beverages. Yoga and meditation are an important component of your cure. This holistic approach brings the wished success.
Before departure the senior physician gives his/her final consultation and discusses with you how to establish a healthy life plan.

Ayurveda Packages

Heritance Ayurveda Maha Gedera offers 3 Ayurveda packages, each with different focus. The minimum stay should be one week; however a minimum stay of 2 weeks is recommended and necessary for an authentic Panchakarma cure and for better effect.

A. Ayubowan program (weight reduction, min. stay two weeks). This is a Panchakarma program for weight reduction. It contains special treatments like Udwarthana - herbal powder massage, Langana - an Ayurveda diet, acupuncture and slimming teas.

B. Ayubowan Stress management program (min. stay two weeks). This is a Panchakarma cure with focus on relaxation and stress reduction. Shirodhara is the most important treatment in this package. It also contains a Shirolepa, Shirovasti, and Sarvangadhara - dripping oil treatment which is effective in reducing stress, states of anxiety and burnout. The psychological support, yoga and meditation help to find inner peace.

C. Ayubowan rejuvenation package (duration one week) is a program based on Panchakarma with detoxing and rejuvenation of the whole body. Herbal medicines are applied for strenghtening the immune system and the energy level, while Pinda Sweda (rice pudding and herbal packing) improves the flexibility.
