Meditation & Mindfulness Retreat
A time to learn the basics of mindfulness or to deepen one’s practice, to walk in nature and to cultivate a relationship with ourselves and others in a creative and kind way. There will be a daily schedule with periods of sitting and walking meditation as well as yoga. Weather permitting we might do walking meditation as a group outside and in silence. This retreat will be mostly in silence with some opportunities to share and discuss among participants during some times of the day.
Meditation instructions will be offered together with talks and group / individual discussions. Each day there will be a meditation theme. We will start by developing mindfulness of the breath and then include mindfulness of body, sounds, feelings and mental states. The practice of loving kindness and appreciative joy will also be introduced.
Our intention is to cultivate concentration and enquiry so that we can develop quietness and clarity. During our time together, we will focus on the integration of mindfulness in all aspects of our life. In this way we can experience directly the effect of paying attention in a caring and careful way, and develop the intention to apply what we have learnt in our daily life.
